Simpler exports to MERCOSUR: Indian MSME exporters will benefit from electronic Certificates of Origin, which will have the same legal validity as paper certificates under the India–MERCOSUR Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA). This will make the export documentation process simpler by reducing paperwork, processing time, and transaction costs for businesses seeking preferential access to markets in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The new Protocol will come into effect after the participating countries complete the required internal procedures.
