The ₹37,500 crore Coal/Lignite Gasification Scheme is expected to create indirect growth for MSMEs through industrial supply chains and related support services. Businesses involved in fabrication, engineering, industrial equipment, logistics, warehousing, maintenance, manpower services, compliance, audit, legal support, and downstream chemical industries may see increased demand as projects expand.
The scheme is also expected to help mobilise investments of around ₹2.5–3 lakh crore and generate nearly 50,000 jobs, while supporting industrial activity in coal-producing regions. Along with promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing import dependence, the initiative aligns with broader national programs such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The development is expected to benefit MSMEs connected to manufacturing, industrial services, logistics, and compliance ecosystems.
