As Chair of BRICS in 2026, India is leading renewed discussions on MSME growth and cooperation under the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR). During the first SME Working Group Meeting, BRICS countries discussed improving access to finance for MSMEs across member economies.
The discussions focused on reducing the MSME credit gap, improving financial inclusion and financial literacy, strengthening MSME credit readiness, supporting fintech-based lending systems, and enabling smoother global trade payments. BRICS members also explored new financing approaches, stronger MSME support systems, and deeper collaboration to help small businesses become more globally competitive.
The discussions reflect increasing global attention on MSME finance, digital lending, and cross-border business support for small enterprises.
