APEDA supported the first export of 20 metric tons of ODOP honey from Baksa district in Assam to the United States. Produced under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, Baksa honey is recognised for its natural purity and near-organic quality.

The export is expected to help local beekeepers and farmers earn nearly 43% higher prices compared to domestic markets while also creating access to international buyers. The development highlights the growing global demand for niche agricultural products and rural produce from North East India.

The initiative also shows how product branding, quality support, and export connections can help local producers, farmer groups, and rural MSMEs improve income and expand into global markets.
